Export av katt

Ja har fått äran att exportera två kattungar från första kullen till Polen och en till Norge från andra kullen. Här kommer lite tips om vad man behöver ta reda på inför exporten.

Tag reda på vilka import regler som gäller för landet som katten skall exporteras till. Det är synd om kattungen fastnar i tullen och måste sitta i karantän.
Skaffa alla nödvändiga papper. Ring till landets ambasad eller konsulat och fråga vad som behvös.
Glöm inte boka tid för alla vaccinationer.
Hur skall katten transporteras? Kommer nya ägarna och hämtar kattungen, skall den åka med flyg?
Se till att katten är fullt betald innan leverans, t.ex att pengarna sätts in på ditt bankkonto.
Ordna en "transfer" från din kattklubb eller SVERAK. Kostar en halv stamtavleavgift, dvs 100:-.
Enl Svenska Kennelklubben (som har hand om kattregistret) skall det inte vara något problem att föra över chipmärkning, så länge som katten är märkt med ett ISO-godkänt system.
I Stockholm är det distriktsveterinären som skriver på hälso- och rabies intyg. Man kan ringa till Länsveterinären för att få reda på var distriktsveterinären håller till.
I övriga landet kan det fortfarande vara länsveterinären som gör detta.

Exporting a kitten

I have had the honour of exporting two of my kittens in the first litter to Poland and one in the second litter to Norway. Here are som useful tips on what to think of prior to export.

You have to investigate what importrules apply to the countyr in question. It´s a shame if the kitten would get caught in the customs
Get all the necessary papers in order. Call the countrys embassy or consulate and ask what papers and vaccinations are required
Do not forget to book appointments for all the vaccinations
How shall the kitten be transported? Is the new owner coming to fetch the kitten? Will it be travelling by airplane?
Make sure the kitten is fully paid prior to delivery, i.e the money is transfered to your bankaccount.
You have to get a "transfer" from your local catclub or SVERAK. Otherwise the kitten can not be registred in the new country. The cost is ½ pedigree fee here in Sweden.
According to The Swedish KennelClub (that takes care of the ID-register for cats) it should not be any problem to transfer the ID-tags, as long as the cats are marked with a ISO-aproved system.
In Stockholm the distict veterinarian writes a health- and rabies certificate. One can call to the County veterinarian for information regarding location of the district veterinarian.
In the rest of the country the county veterinarian do this things.
